COVID-19 has thrown us all for a loop this year, and while we could spend a month talking about all the ways it's changed our lives, we want to focus on what it's changed for us at the store, and what that means for you when you're bringing in framing this season.
It's changed what's available:
Almost all of our suppliers experienced a backlog of supplies and materials when everyone was allowed to open back up in May - a huge THANK YOU to every customer who has been so patient with waiting a little longer for their framing! For the most part, everyone is back at normal capacity, with one notable exception: our supply of metal frames. We've been experiencing anywhere from a week to month long wait for metal frames, as the company in the United States that manufactures them works through their backlog. This means that if you have your heart set on a metal frame for a Christmas present, the sooner you can get in to see us, the better. Otherwise, we'll work with you to offer a wood frame option that we know we can get quickly.
You may have to wait a little longer:
It feels like you've all been at home, staring at your walls! And you're getting a head-start on Christmas present framing earlier than normal, yay you!
We've been steady with custom orders the past month, and are encouraging you to come in soon if you have something you'd like framed as a present. While we used to promise a turnaround of 7-10 days, our turnaround time now is closer to 14-18 days (to guarantee availability of stock as well). As always, if you had a last-minute emergency, we would do our best to accommodate you, but we're asking for patience and advance notice where possible.
We're encouraging private appointments for framing:
We love seeing you and your projects and want to make sure we have dedicated time to go through everything with you, especially if it's a present or more complex project. To that end, we're strongly encouraging that you book an appointment with us for framing. There are a number of ways to do that: you can submit a form through our website, give us a call, or book an appointment online through our Facebook page.
Above all, we want to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to shop in comfort with us over the holiday season, so we're thanking you in advance for your patience and understanding as we navigate a new way of doing things!
